Your toilet is prone to different types of malfunctions. Most of them are minor malfunctions but they need to be addressed. Oftentimes, recurring problems are a sign that something bigger is happening. Or they could be a sign that something is happening in the walls or under the floor out of your view. Here are some signs that you need toilet repair.
Water Bubbling in the Toilet
If you see bubbles popping up in your toilet bowl from time to time, you could have a serious problem. If they are happening, you should try to discover what is preceding the bubbles. Typically, the bubbles pop up when you flush a different toilet, run the sink, or otherwise use a fixture. If that causes bubbles, you need toilet repair and possibly repair to other parts of your plumbing. That’s a sign that you could have some serious air or blockage in your plumbing system. That will be a problem sooner rather than later.
Toilet Keeps Running
If your toilet keeps running even after it flushes, it could be a simple problem of the chain slipping off. In the back of your toilet, there is a chain that controls the rubber stopper that allows the toilet tank to fill up. If that chain has fallen off, it needs to be repaired. If the chain is still on, you can see if the rubber stopper is forming a tight seal. If it’s not forming a tight seal, you can use petroleum jelly to form a temporary seal but you need to call a professional to replace the rubber stopper.
These are just two of the most common problems that you’ll experience with your toilet.
